Oscar Wilde … poet, playwright and noted libertine is perhaps best remembered now for his epigrams. Epigrams are short statements, often humorous and date to ancient times. So it’s only appropriate that the most famous wit of his time would partake in them as well.

Many of Wilde’s most famous epigrams involve something else he partook in … liquor. An Irishman, and the Irish are known for a fondness of drink, he is likely most quoted today in toasts, as much as for his famous literary output.
