Okay, I admit it. From the time Dracula left Jonathan Harker to his fate in his Transylvanian castle in the hands (and fangs) of the undead sisters, I get a little twinge when I read this quote.

For men and women alike, part of the appeal of vampires isn’t what’s told, (or shown in the films), but what it implies. When Bela Lugosi adapted the role for the screen, women swooned. There was an implication of pleasure that could be gleaned from his oral ministrations and … well, you get the hint. It transfers just as well to female vampires.
